At least 11 Chechen nationals were arrested by security forces in central Logar province on Wednesday, provincial governor said in a statement on Thursday.
The Chechen nationals, including women and children, were arrested in Koza Chotra area of Azra district of Logar, the statement said.
According to the officials, “two rockets, two Kalashnikovs, a motorbike and a vehicle were also seized from the foreigners.”
“Those arrested come from Hesarak and Khoghyani districts of (eastern) Nangarhar province - the districts which Daesh insurgents have activities,” it said.
However, the statement did not provided further details.
Officials have said that in recent months more than eight Chechen nationals have been killed by Afghan security forces in operations in Azra district of the province.
