11 Insurgents Killed by Foreign Airstrike in Helmand

At least 11 insurgents, including two local Taliban commanders, were killed in a foreign airstrike in southern Helmand province, the provincial Governor’s Office said in a statement on Thursday.

The operation was launched in the Garemsir district of the province on Wednesday afternoon where the insurgents gathered.

“Zahin and Ghazi, the two Taliban commanders, are among the dead,” the statement said. There were no civilian casualties.

The statement did not provide more details about the airstrike.
