35 Insurgents Killed in Counter-Terrorism Operations

At least 35 insurgents were killed during counter-terrorism operations over the past 24 hours, the Interior Ministry (MoI) said in a statement on Wednesday.

In addition, 18 other insurgents were wounded and three arrested.

The operations were launched in Mohammad Agha district of Logar, Shah Joi district of Zabul, Shindand district of Herat, Ali Shang district of Laghman, Achin district of Nangarhar and Uruzgan provinces in a bid to clear the areas of insurgents.

The statement said 35 insurgents including 15 Deash were killed.

“Also, during these operations, joint forces seized three motorcycles and detonated IEDs,” it said.

However, the statement did not provide details on casualties among security forces.

The operations were conducted across districts in at least six provinces, the interior ministry said.
