Amrullah Saleh, the state minister for security reforms, on Tuesday resigned from his position.

Saleh who previously served as the head of the National Directorate of Security (NDS) made his surprise announcement on Wednesday after having been appointed to the post in March this year.

Saleh announced his resignation on his Facebook page.

He gave no further details except to say he had handed his resignation in to the president and the CEO.
