ANSF Retaliates Against Pakistan’s Barrage Of Missiles On Kunar

The Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) have retaliated against the bombardment of missiles fired by Pakistani military forces on Kunar province in the eastern regions of Afghanistan in the past week.

Kunar police chief on Wednesday claimed that the ANSF successfully destroyed several key Pakistani check points.

According to local officials in Kunar, over the past week, Pakistani forces have fired over 1,000 missiles on Kunar, which has resulted in a number of civilian casualties.

Reports indicate that at least five civilians were either killed or wounded as a result of the shelling on six districts of Kunar.

“We inflicted massive destruction on bases of Pakistani military forces, we used artilleries and directedly hit their bases,” said Kunar police chief Juma Gul Hemat.

“We are very concerned about these attacks, government should stop it,” said a local resident in Kunar Anwarul Haq.

“Government should take reciprocal action against it and prevent casualties among our people,” said another resident Hussain Ahmad.

According to reports, the Pakistani shelling on Kunar province has left dozens of local residents displaced.

“221 of our countrymen have been forced to evacuate their homes as a result of these attacks by Pakistani military forces,” said Kunar governor Wahidullah Kalimzai.

This comes after Afghanistan’s ministry of defense announced that a delegation had been sent to Islamabad to raise the issue with Pakistani officials in order to resolve the problem diplomatically.
