Abdul Safa Sanayee, chief of the private sector for Baghlan province, was on Monday killed by unknown gunmen in the provincial capital, Pul-e-Khumri, local officials said.
According to Baghlan police the shooting occurred on Monday at around 8am local time when Sanayee was on his way to work.
According to police he was shot in the head.
Eyewitnesses said the incident occurred close to the police headquarters and NDS department.
Sanayee was taken to hospital but died on arrival.
According to police, the gunmen fled the area. However, police have launched an investigation into the incident.
