CEO Inaugurates Projects In Laghman Province

Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah on Sunday visited Laghman province where he inaugurated a number of development projects and announced plans for others at a total cost of over 192 million AFs.

Abdullah said at a gathering in the provincial capital Mehtarlam city, that he was proud to take part in the country’s development. 

“I am proud that today I have participated in the Laghman rebuilding ceremony and I hope such ceremonies will be held in other parts of the country,” said Abdullah.

“Today in your hand, the projects at a cost of 192.4 million AFs are being inaugurated or being started,” said Laghman governor Jabbar Naeemi.

In addition to launching and inaugurating projects, Abdullah also visited Laghman province to review the security situation.

Laghman governorJabbar Naeemi meanwhile said insurgents had tried on numerous occasions to attack the province and take  control, but were not able to succeed.

“Security threats are a challenge, even the insurgents have tried three times to take Mehtarlam city, but they were not successful,” said Naeemi. 

The CEO said he will discuss the issue in Kabul with the central government. 

“I will share the issue with the National Security Council to increase the number of local police and Afghan police,” said Abdullah. 

Meanwhile a number of Laghman residents said the education situation was not up to standard in the province and urged government to improve the situation.
