At least eight insurgents were killed in military operations carried out by security forces in Kunduz and Takhar provinces, Pamir 20 Corps said in a statement on Sunday.

The statement said 12 other insurgents were injured in the operations.

Two other militants were arrested in the operations, the statement added.

A number of weapons were recovered during the operations.

The statement have not provided further details about probable casualties of security forces during the operations.
