At least eight Taliban insurgents were killed in a military operation conducted by government forces in Nad Ali district in southern Helmand province on Monday, local official said on Tuesday.
In addition, a number of Taliban fighters were wounded in the operation.
Militants hideouts were destroyed in Nad Ali district during the operation, said Omar Zwak, spokesman for Helmand governor.
“There was no civilian and military forces casualty during the operation,” Zwak said.
However, he did not provide more details about the operation.
