Humvee Bombing In Kandahar Leaves Six Policemen Dead

At least six police force members were killed in a suicide car bombing in Kandahar province early on Friday morning, police officials confirmed.

Kandahar Police Chief Gen. Abdul Raziq said the suicide attacker was driving a Humvee laden with explosives.

He said the attacker wanted to enter the police headquarters in Maiwand district – in the north-west of Kandahar City, but the explosion occurred near the entrance of the headquarters.

Raziq said the incident happened at around 5:00am local time on Friday.

He said the explosion left six police force members dead and six others wounded.

No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack.
