Pakistan’s Army Chief Calls Ghani Following Deadly Attacks

Pakistan’s Army Chief of Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa called President Ashraf Ghani on Sunday to pass on his condolences following the loss of lives in last week’s deadly terror attack in Afghanistan.

In a statement issued by his office, Bajwa expressed sympathy with families of the victims and empathized on the tragic series of events that have befallen people of both countries over the last many years.

He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to cooperating with the Afghan government and people to eliminate terrorism which is affecting peace and stability in the region.

He emphasized that Pakistan has come a long way in its fight against terrorism and has eliminated all safe havens in the process.

Bajwa also suggested a robust border management mechanism and intelligence cooperation to put a stop to the movement of terrorists across the border.

He said that the elements against peace in the region are strengthened by the blame game, the statement read.

Ghani meanwhile thanked Bajwa for his sentiments and reiterated that both nations must work together for peace and stability in the region.
