Pakistan Arrests 79 Afghan Nationals Trying To Enter Iran

Pakistan media reported on Monday that 79 Afghan nationals who were trying to cross into Iran illegally were arrested by Pakistan border police.

The Pakistan border police launched an operation in Mashkail area and arrested the Afghan nationals, according to Pakistan media.

Reports indicate large numbers of illegal and unregistered Afghan refugees are living in Balochistan and allegedly carry out illegal activities.

The Pakistan media also stated that locals in Chaghai criticized government for repeatedly extending the stay of Afghan refugees in Pakistan.  They called for the forced repatriation of Afghan refugees who they claim are taking up jobs that local people could be doing and also of smuggling drugs and weapons into Pakistan.
