People Find Media Last Option To Raise Their Voices

A large number of people visit media outlets every day to make sure their voices are heard as they fail to do this through government institutions due to some certain problems, including corruption.

At least 10 people visits TOLOnews TV on a daily basis to raise their voices.

Those who raise their voices through media said corruption, negligence, complicated processes in government institutions, especially in legal and judicial institutions are the reasons that makes them to refer their problems to media outlets.

Those who visit TOLOnews often bring complaints against cases of murder, corruption, kidnapping, land grabbing and rapping.

“I went to the Attorney General and he said he will ask me next week to come, but five months is passed and he has not contacted me,” Haji Amin, a resident of Kabul, said.

In addition to judicial institutions, some individuals have complained over ignorance to address soldiers’ problems by the defense and security agencies.

They said the security organizations are not paying “serious attention” to security force members, even for those who are on the battlefields and for those who are wounded or killed.

“I urge government to put an end to our challenges,” a resident of Kabul said.

Out of the numerous challenges in different departments, corruption in judicial institutions have always been a repeated complaint.

“I compalinted many times, but reached to result and no one heard my voice,” Ghulam Hazrat, a resident of Maidan Wardak province said.

“I ask government (leaders) to do something, othewise I will set myself in fire,” Mir Agha, a resident of Badakhshan said.

Negligence and inabilities of Afghanistan’s foreign policy in defending Afghans’ rights out of the country are other complaints received by TOLOnews.

“I was in detention for four days. My family was outside of the detention center's door, my son was crying,” Abdul Qadir, a resident of Badakhshan said.

The Attorney General’s Office meanwhile confirmed the complaints and negligence in some government institutions.

“We cannot reject challenges and probelms, but ignoring our efforts in addressing these challenges would be unfair,” AGO spokesman Jamshid Rasooli.
