At least 15 terrorist organizations are active in the Kunar area, including Daesh, Al-Qaeda and Lashkar-e-Tayyeba operatives, the provincial governor, Wahidullah Kalimzai, said on Tuesday.

Residents in Kunar have asked the central government to intervene and to rid the province of the terrorists.

Attaullah is one of the residents who travels from Sarkano district Assad Abad daily to work and earn money for bread. He earns only 200 AFs a day. A week ago, his house was hit by a missile fired from across the border by the Pakistani forces.

“My house is in Sarkano. I for 200 AFs a day. Pakistan continues its shelling. One of my brothers was martyred in the shelling,” said Attaullah.
