President Ashraf Ghani has dismissed at least seven border police officials in Herat province, provincial governor’s spokesman Jailani Farhad said on Wednesday.
Farhad said according to Ghani’s decree, Herat’s Border Police Chief, a military commissioner of the border police in Islam Qala as well as the manager of the passport department and three other police force members have been removed from their jobs.
Ghani has appointed caretakers for the departments, the spokesman said.
Also according to the decree, a commander of the Crisis Response Unit in Herat was also dismissed from his job, Farhad stated.
