Helmand Parents Proud Of Their Sons’ Sacrifice In Line Of Duty

A Helmand parents who have lost their three sons in fighting against the Taliban in Kajaki district said their fourth son is a police force member and he will follow his brothers’ path.

The three brothers were police force members and were killed in Kajaki conflicts.

The family however was forced to leave their home in Kajaki and move to Lashkargah city, the provincial capital.

“In Kabul, I tried to meet with the president [Ashraf Ghani], but I failed. In Lashkargah city, we cannot afford to pay the rent for the house and we have to go back to Kajaki. But, there [in Kajaki] we will not enjoy a peaceful life due to the presence of the Taliban,” Bibi Zulhejja, mother of the family said.

She said they are proud of their sons as they sacrificed their life in defending the country.

“My three sons were martyred in Kajaki in fight against the Taliban. My fourth son was injured, but he continues to serve as a member of police. We are facing numerous challenges,” she added.

The family has lost three young sons, but received nothing, Dost Mohammad, father of the police force members said.

“Taliban destroyed my house in Kajaki district. After my sons were martyred, I was forced to move to Lashkargah. We have a difficult life here,” Mohammad said.
