Roadside Blast Kills Nangarhar Local Police Chief

Habiburrahman, a local police commander in Khogyani district of eastern Nangarhar province was killed in a roadside mine blast on Sunday afternoon, a local official confirmed.

Four other local policemen and a civilian were wounded.

The incident took place in the Khogyani district of the province, a spokesman for the provincial governor, Attaullah Khoghyani said.

“The victims have been taken to the nearby hospital and two of the wounded people are in critical health condition,” Khogyani said. He did not provide further details.

No group, including the Taliban, has claimed responsibility for the blast.
