Security Agencies Planning To Boost Kabul’s Security

Senior security officials said at a meeting on Thursday that the National Security Council and other security bodies have started working on a new plan to ensure the safety of cities, including Kabul, during winter.

The head of the intelligence and criminal investigation department at the Ministry of Interior, Farid Ahmad Afzali, said the draft plan will utilize all operational, intelligence and security capacities jointly with local offices, municipalities and the National Directorate of Security.

According to him, they have conducted an overall assessment of the intelligence and security bodies in Kabul.

“The National Security Council is working on a plan with all other security agencies. It is a fundamental plan for ensuring the safety of Kabul and then other provinces,” he said.

Meanwhile, head of the Crime Investigation Department, Mohammad Salem Almas, said the number of cases of crime has dropped from 450 incidents a month in the past to 350 cases a month this year.

“We are continuing our efforts seriously. I can say that according to documents, the level of crimes has dropped compared with the past year and the past six months,” he said.

At the same event, Afzal Aman, head of the Ministry of Defense Operations, said they have started strict measures from parts of Kabul to its outskirts and districts.
