At least six insurgents were killed in a U.S drone strike in central Wardak province on Sunday, local officials said Monday.
Abdul Rahman Mangal, a spokesman for the provincial governor said that the strike took place in Maidan Shahr, the provincial capital, after a U.S drone targeted an insurgent safe haven.
“The Taliban’s local commanders are also among the dead,” he said.
However, he did not provide more details about the strike.
