A senior Taliban member believed to be a suicide bombing mastermind in Kabul city was arrested during a police operation in central Wardak province, the Minister of Interior (MoI) said in a statement on Monday.

In addition, two other insurgents were also arrested.

“The operation was carried out by Afghan National Police in Marshal Valley, in Maidan Wardak province,” the statement said added that: “Afghan National Police seized various types of weapons, ammunition, explosives and 10 mortar rounds.”
