Trump’s Action Endangers Global Peace, Stability: Senate

Members of Afghanistan’s Senate on Sunday strongly condemned the recent move by the US president Donald Trump to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, saying the decision has angered the entire Islamic world.

They said Trump’s move on Jerusalem was wrong, adding that such a policy will have consequences for relations between the United States and the Muslim world.

“We are deeply concerned about the recognition of the first Qibla of the Muslims as the capital of the Israeli invaders,” said one senator Faisal Sami.

“Trump’s decision means the US will be in a permanent war with the Muslims,” said senator Haseebullah Kalimzai

Senate chief, Mohammad Alam Ezidyar, said Trump’s decision was against the spirit of democracy and is a negative act against the Islamic world.

“Our demand is that policymakers in the United States review the decision and defy it,” said Ezidyar.

“The move has hurt the sentiments of the entire Muslim world, it has also endangered global peace and stability,” said senator Lailuma Ahmadi

Trump on Wednesday reversed decades of U.S. policy and by recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, imperiled Middle East peace efforts.

Trump also directed the US government to make arrangements for the relocation of US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
