At least two civilians and one Resolute Support (RS) soldier were killed when the foreign forces patrol was targeted by a suicide bombing in Qarabagh district in Kabul.

The explosion took place close to Qarabagh Police Headquarters at around 8pm local time on Thursday.

The Resolute Support mission in Afghanistan said in a statement that one coalition soldier was killed and six Resolute Support personnel including five troops and an interpreter were wounded in the attack.

The patrol was conducting a partnered mission with the Afghan National Army when a personnel-borne IED detonated, the RS statement said.

The statement said the personnel who were wounded are being treated at the U.S. military hospital at Bagram Airfield.

Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack.
