Noorudin Sharifi Ghor, police counter narcotics director, was shot by unknown gunmen on Saturday evening, police said.
 
According to the police the incident occurred when he was on his way home. He was shot in the Firoz Koh city capital of Ghor province.
 
Police are investigating the incident, Nazami said.
 
So far, no group including the Taliban, has claimed responsibility for the shooting.
