Afghan Movie Nominated For Malaysia Golden Global Awards

Roya Sadat’s ‘A Letter to the President’ has been nominated for Malaysia Golden Global Awards in different categories, actor and director Aziz Dildar confirmed Friday. 

‘A Letter to the President’ was premiered in Kabul last year in September. The 90-minute, full length movie took two years to complete.

Directed by Roya Sadat, ‘A Letter to the President’ showcases the hardships of a woman in Afghanistan. 

Aziz Dildar said the film has been nominated in four categories including best screenplay, best film, best new director and best actress. 

Aziz Dildar is nominated for best screenplay, Roya Sadat for best new director and Leena Alam for best actress in the festival.

This year will be the second year of the Malaysia International Film Festival (MIFFEST) and Malaysia Golden Global Awards (MGGA) and will take place on 25 February and2nd of March respectively, Taiwan News reported Thursday. 

Afghanistan, China, Iran, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, Australia, France, Korea and Japan will participate in the festival. 

Last year in July, ‘A Letter To The President’ was nominated for the Opera Prima Award at the 70th Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland.
