Kam Air Begins Direct Flights To Uzbekistan

The first direct flight of Kam Air from Kabul to Tashkent landed in Uzbekistan on Thursday.

The airway company will have two flights to Uzbekistan and meanwhile two flights will land in Kabul from Tashkent every week.

Head of Kam Air, Zmarai Kamgar, said Afghan passengers will be able to travel to US and Europe with less expenses and lesser time through Uzbekistan.

“We continue our efforts to sign a contract with Uzbekistan government based on which, the passengers who have European passports will receive Uzbekistan visa within 70 hours after they land in Uzbekistan airport,” Kamgar told TOLOnews.

Meanwhile, officials from Civil Aviation Authority said the move is part of their efforts to improve cooperation between civil aviation companies of Afghanistan and Uzbekistan.

“We are trying to increase the transit ways for our passengers. Ahead of this, we were reliant on Turkey and United Arab Emirates, but now passengers can travel to the world through Uzbekistan,” said Mahmoud Shah Habibi, head of Civil Aviation Authority.

According to the authority, majority of passengers are traveling to Europe and United States through Turkey and Dubai.
