At least 79 Taliban insurgents were killed in Afghan security forces operations in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Interior Affairs (MoIA) said in a statement on Saturday.
Twenty-six other insurgents were injured and 10 others arrested during the raids.
The statement said the operations were conducted in Nangarhar, Kunduz, Kandahar, Paktia, Logar, Badghis and Helmand provinces to clear the area of insurgents.
The MoIA did not provide details about Afghan force casualties during the raids. And self-identified Taliban spokesman have not yet commented on the operations.
The statement also added that during these operations the Afghan forces have seized many weapons.
Three other insurgents were also killed while placing roadside mines in Musakhil district of eastern Khost province.
There are over 350,000 active Afghan security forces that will take over full security responsibility from foreign troops by the end of 2014.
