The broadcast of a private Afghan TV Channel was blocked by the Afghan Council of Ministers Tuesday after being accused of provoking friction and ruining national unity

Head of "Imroz", the banned Afghan channel, called the decision made by the Council of Ministers a hasty action and said the decision was made under pressure of Iranian government.

The Afghan Council of Ministers ordered the Ministry of Information and Culture to temporarily stop the telecast of Imroz TV for airing programs that arouse religious discrepancies and harms national unity.

The stance and the disagreements of Imroz TV against the strategies of the Iranian government in Afghanistan have a huge role in the decision, said head of the private TV channel, Najibullah Kabuli.

The Afghan government has also urged TOLO TV, a famous Afghan TV, and Channel One TV to stop the broadcast of their new programs "Deal or no Deal" of TOLO TV and "Del-o-Na Del" which is being telecasted by Channel One TV.

A number of Afghan lawyers have cited the decision by Afghan government against the laws of media.

After the establishment of the new Afghan government, media has developed tremendously and the government has always announced the freedom of media as one of its significant achievement.
