All the passengers on board in the Pakistani airliner that crashed on Wednesday morning in bad weather on hills near the capital, Islamabad, have been killed, officials said
The plane belonging to AirBlue, a private airliner, lost contact with Islamabad International Airport on Wednesday morning while flying from the southern city of Karachi.
"There were 146 passengers and six crewmen on board. We are gathering information. We have no more details," Mubarik Shah, a spokesman of Pakistan's Civil Aviation Authority, told Reuters.
A witness said that he saw the plane flying very low from the window of his office.
Pakistan's AAJ television showed footage of at least one helicopter hovering over what appeared to be the site of the crash, with smoke coming from heavily forested ground.
The main cause of the crash is not announced so far.
Difficult roads were complicating the rescue operation.
