President Karzai said on Tuesday that, "the international community is here to fight terrorism, but the danger is based elsewhere and they are not acting against it"

The insurgents' sanctuaries have not been targeted outside Afghanistan, it is a controversial issue, he said during a press conference held in the Presidential Palace in Kabul.

The Afghan President highlighted that the aim behind the presence of foreign forces in Afghanistan is to fight against terrorism, but they are not acting strongly enough.

While the international community is aware of militants' havens outside Afghanistan, they do not take strong action to eliminate them, he said.

"Our allies have the ability, but the question is why they are not acting... this is a complicated issue," he said.

President Karzai sees the leak of the US classified military logs crucial and said that probe is underway to check the accuracy of the documents.

"The leak of the facts will not bring any changes in the fight against terrorism and in our relationships with our neighbours," he said.

Despite the release of thousands of secret US military files that claim Pakistan and Iran are directly backing the insurgency in Afghanistan, President Karzai said he will continue his efforts to build a strong tie with the neighbouring countries.

"We live in this region, and have our own neighbourhood and relations and we will continue them," he said.

More than 90,000 US classified documents on the Afghan war were disclosed by WikiLeaks website and files clearly showcase the awareness of the United States about Osama bin Laden's hideouts, the involvement of Pakistan's military intelligence services in the attacks on Afghan leaders and foreign forces in the country and support of Iran to the Taliban.
