Some Afghan analysts commented on Tuesday that the war the foreign forces are fighting in Afghanistan is a failure
"The coalition countries have not adequately fulfilled their commitments and duties in Afghanistan, and this is the only reason that Afghanistan is currently entangled with plenty of challenges, inconsideration and shortcomings," said an ex-Afghan Defence Minister, Shah Nawaz Tanai.
If the US knows that Osama bin Laden, the leader of Al-Qaeda network, is in Pakistan then why do they not capture him?, Afghan analysts said.
The comments come as days before the US Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Admiral Mike Mullen had said that most members of the Al-Qaeda network and the Taliban group are in Pakistan and in some cases Pakistan's intelligence organisation provides them with aid.
"They have havens that still exist in Pakistan, not for the leaders of these organisations, but also many others, and it is the focus of this overall mission to eliminate those safe havens," Admiral Mike Mullen had said.
"And we do it in support of those who are executing the mission in Pakistan as obviously as well as with the continued efforts here in Afghanistan. But it is our intent and I believe that we will eliminate those safe havens as we execute this mission," he had added.
Afghan analysts underscore that as a result of the presence of international community in Afghanistan, the Taliban have not only been defeated, but they have improved.
