Trainers from the United States Army Reserve's 98th Division will soon come to Afghanistan to take part in the training of Afghan security forces, reports say.The decision was announced at a send-off ceremony on Saturday at the unit's armory in Amherst.
Many of the trainers are those who have also taken part in the training of Iraqi security forces.
Training efforts have been stepped up to prepare the Afghan security forces to encounter anti-government armed groups in the country.
Officers in the unit find it more challenging as they think Afghan soldiers are not used to being under a unified command.
As some members of the US Congress are emphasising on a full US military exit from Afghanistan by 2014, efforts to form a 300,000 army are considered vital for the future of stability in the country.
