At least 10 members of the electoral campaigns of a female candidate for the Afghan parliamentary elections were disappeared on Wednesday afternoon

The men who were campaigning for me were kidnapped on the way between Adraskan and Farsi districts in the province, Fawzia Gilani, a female candidate for the upcoming Afghan parliamentary elections told TOLOnews reporter on Thursday.

"Unknown gunmen kidnapped four of my family members and six members of my elections campaigns of whom two had guns," Gilani said.

"One of the men contacted me and said they were abducted," she added.

"The electoral campaigns team had entered Adraskan district without coordination with security forces and were heading to Farsi district, who were disappeared on the way," Dilawar Shah Dilawar, the Provincial Security Director told TOLOnews reporter.

It is not yet clear whether these men have really been abducted or not, but the police has started operations to track the missing ones, he added.

No groups, including the Taliban have taken responsibility for the attack so far.

Adraskan and Farsi are among the unsafe districts of Herat province, that have witnessed insurgency attacks and robberies recently.
