
In total, 7 US soldiers have been killed on Saturday and Sunday in Afghanistan's unsafe southern and eastern regions, NATO says
Two of these US servicemen were killed in bomb attacks on Sunday in southern Afghanistan, NATO said.
Three others were killed in insurgency in eastern Afghanistan on Saturday while two others were killed in a bombing in the south, NATO added.
The latest fatalities bring the number of American soldiers killed in Afghan war to 41 in August this year.
A total of 61 international forces have been killed in Afghan violence this month, including 7 British troops.
Fighting is at its fiercest despite the additional 30,000 fresh US troops on the ground to bring the total number of foreign forces in Afghanistan to 150,000, of which 100,000 are US soldiers.
Most of the new troops have been deployed to the country's southern volatile provinces of Helmand and Kandahar, where fighting is at its fiercest and casualties are on the rise.
A total of 465 international soldiers, 302 of them Americans have been killed in Afghanistan this year excluding the latest fatalities, according to the independent icasualties.org website that tracks the death of foreign soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq.
