At least three gunmen were killed in clashes with Afghan police in eastern Nangarhar province on Saturday, local officials said.
One Afghan police was also wounded during the clashes.
The incident took place in Keera Khil district of Nangarhar province, while the gunmen attacked on Afghan police, Ahmad Zia Abdulzai, provincial spokesman told TOLOnews reporter.
Mr Ahmadzai did not provide more details about the incident.
The Afghan police have started investigation about the incident, he added.
Keera Khil is an insecure district where insurgents have often attacked on Afghan police checkpoints.
