Road-side mine blast kills at least 6 employees of a road construction company in the central Parwan province on Tuesday morning

The incident occurred at 11:00am on Tuesday in the province's Shinwari district when the six men were on their way from Charikar, the province's capital, to Ghorband district, the Police Chief of Parwan told TOLOnews.

Roadside mines planted by insurgents are an easy way to target Afghan and coalition forces, in which civilians are the main victims.

No groups, including the Taliban have claimed responsibility for the attack so far.

Parwan, a province bordering with the capital Kabul is among the secure provinces of Afghanistan that has witnessed insurgency attacks recently.

Violence has increased in Afghanistan's central and northern provinces recently and insurgents have targeted Afghan and coalition forces in the north many times before.

The governor of Balkh, Atta Mohammad Noor, said on Monday at a ceremony on the eve of international peace day that most of the violence in northern provinces was conducted by members of the Hezb-e-Islami hard-line party led by Gulbuddin Hekmatyar.
