Two policemen were killed in a bomb blast in eastern Nangarhar province Thursday, a local official said.

The incident occurred at around 10:30 am local time as a massive explosion shook a police checkpoint near 201 Silab Army Corps in the province's capital, Jalalabad, provincial spokesman Ahmad Zia Abdulzai told TOLOnews.

He could not provide further details about the incident.

No groups, including the Taliban, have claimed responsibility for the attack.
