At least six people, including an Afghan soldier, were injured in a bomb blast near police headquarters in northern Balkh province on Monday. The explosion happened Monday morning in the capital of the province Mazar-e-Sharif, when a remote bomb placed in a bicycle exploded in the area, the head of 303 Pamir Corps in northern Afghanistan Lal Mohammad Ahmadzai told TOLOnews.
"Five civilians including women, children and an Afghan soldier were injured in the blast. Police have started investigating the incident," he said.
The injured were taken to a nearby hospital in the city, he said.
Officials in Balkh hospital confirmed that six people were injured and were being treated in the hospital.
No group including the Taliban has claimed responsibility for the blast.
