At least 9 militants were killed in a US air-strike on a Taliban base on Saturday night in the central Logar province of Afghanistan
The American forces fired missiles on a Taliban base in Tagab village of Baraki Barak district in Logar province killing 9 Taliban militants, Mohammad Rahim Amin, the sub-governor of Baraki Barak told TOLOnews reporter.
Locals claimed that 3 civilians were also killed in the US attacks, a claim denied by the sub-governor.
Baraki Barak is among the insecure districts of Logar province that has witnessed increasing violence recently.
The US and Nato forces have previously conducted air attacks to target insurgents in the province and have killed a number of Taliban insurgents and their commanders.
