At least 17 people were injured in a traffic accident in the eastern Ghazni province on Friday, local officials said.

The incident took place in the Kotal Rouza area of Ghazni city when a bus lost control and hit three other buses, said Mohammadullah Ahmad, head of the provincial traffic department.

Ahmad added that the incident happened because of freezing road conditions and driver neglect.

All the victims were passengers and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

More than 20 people have been injured in traffic accidents in the province over the past week, local officials say.
