At least, two Taliban fighters including the Taliban shadow governor were killed Monday by a Nato airstrike in northern Takhar province

Confirming the incident, provincial officials said the shadow governor for the Taliban, Qari Serajuddin was killed while he was riding on a motorbike.

The spokesman for Takhar governor told a TOLOnews reporter that no civilians were hurt or dead in the attack.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident in southern Helmand province 25 civilians were killed in a Nato airstrike.

Afghan provincial security officials confirmed that a mosque was targeted in the Nato attack.

Nato officials have yet to comment about the mosque issue, but they have rejected that civilians were affected in the attack.
