An 18-year woman died of self-immolation in Guzara district of the western province of Herat, the district governor said Thursday.
The incident took place Tuesday and the woman, who was not named, was hospitalised but died of severe burns, District Governor Nessar Ahmad Popal told TOLOnews.
Popal said that the woman self-immolated because of domestic violence, adding that her husband has been arrested in connection with the incident.
