A Haqqani facilitator and four Taliban leaders were captured in joint Afghan-Nato operations in Afghanistan, Isaf says.

"An Afghan and coalition security force arrested a Haqqani facilitator and detained one suspected insurgent, during an operation in Pul-e 'Alam district, Logar province, today," Isaf said in a statement on Sunday.

The facilitator supplied weapons and improvised explosive device materials to insurgents operating in Pul-e-Alam district of Logar and he is also involved in rocket, IED and direct fire attacks against Afghan and coalition troops, the statement said.

A number of Afghan national army uniforms were also seized during the raid.

The statement added that two other local Taliban leaders and one suspected insurgent were detained during an operation in Spin Boldak district of southern Kandahar province yesterday. The leaders provided improvised explosive device material to the insurgents and conducted attacks in the district, it said.

Meanwhile, a Taliban leader was captured in Now Zad district of the southern Helamand province on Wednesday. He coordinated and conducted multiple direct fires and improvised explosive device attacks against Afghan and coalition forces, according to Isaf.

The leader is also involved in the kidnapping and execution of Afghan National Army soldiers, the statement added.

On Thursday, a Taliban leader was captured in Panjwai district of Kandahar province. The leader coordinated attacks against Afghan and coalition forces and provided weapons and ammunition to insurgents, Isaf said.
