At least two civilians were killed and 43 others were injured on Sunday when a suicide bomber attempted to attack a NATO convoy in Kabul

The suicide bomber missed the targeted convoy by five minutes apparently because of accidental detonation.

The spokesman for the Ministry of Interior Affairs, Zemarai Bashari, said that the attack happened at around 12:00 noon in fourth Macrorayan, close to a clinic named Shino Zada.

All the victims in the incident were civilians, he said.

"Based on preliminary information, a suicide attacker riding a bicycle detonated himself close to Shino Zada clinic and regretfully all the victims in the attack were civilians," he told TOLOnews.

Officials in the Afghan Ministry of Public Health said that all the victims left by the suicide attack including 3 dead and 43 wounded have been taken to nearby hospitals.

The blast took place just two days before dozens of foreign ministers, including UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton were due in the capital for Kabul International Conference.
