The 29 participants of the meeting will discus the country's future as NATO forces prepare to pull out in 2014.

The French foreign minister called the meeting an effort to bring peace and stability to Afghanistan.

However, the Taliban have rejected reports that they will talk with Afghan officials at the meeting, and the High Peace Council has said the meeting will have "no positive result."
