New Afghan House of Representatives will start work after being officially inaugurated by President Karzai and after poll results are completely announced, top Afghan official says
At the same time, the Independent Election Commission announced that efforts are underway to prepare the ground for final results of elections in Ghazni province.
After winning candidates were introduced to the House of Representatives, Mr Azizi said based on Afghanistan's constitution the new parliament will be inaugurated by President Karzai.
The government Minister for Parliamentary Affairs took a different look into discrepancies between Attorney General's Office and IEC over final results of elections and distribution of certificates.
"The cases opened by the Attorney General's Office, which are to the extent of accusations, could not stop announcement of final results or certificate distribution," said Mr Azizi.
Recently tensions soared after the IEC failed to announce the complete final results of elections because of what they called technical problems in the system. The IEC took more time to finalise its decision about Ghazni, the only remaining province.
While the Attorney General is not pleased with IEC distributing certificates to winning candidates, the IEC continues giving out certificates to the candidates and more than 150 candidates have so far received certificates.
Local Head of Electoral Complaints Commission (ECC) for eastern Nuristan province slammed elections today and accused electoral officials of organising fraud.
But the electoral commission as ever before dismissed the allegations.
