The insurgents are "clearly losing" the fight in Afghanistan, Isaf spokesman General Gunter Katz said Sunday, responding to comments from an aide of President Hamid Karzai that the Americans are losing the war.
"We are quite successful, we are fighting them. They are clearly losing that fight," Katz said in an interview with TOLOnews.
Human rights organizations observed the International Day of the Elimination of Violence against Women on Sunday saying that recent violence against women in Afghanistan is appalling.
Rights activists said women in Afghanistan have been always treated as the subordinate gender and until recently have not played a large role in society which has impacted its development and progress.
The Parliamentary commission of finance and budget said Sunday that 11 government organisations including the Ministries of Defense and Public Health did not responsibly spend their budgets in 1390 (2010-2011).
Commission deputy Siddiq Ahmad Osmani said that the country's laws are not considered in spending the budgets, criticising unbalanced distribution by the Ministry of Finance towards government organisations.
