Afghanistan is perceived to have one of the most corrupt public sectors in the world out of 176 countries surveyed, according to a report from Transparency International released Wednesday.

An eight-year-old boy was raped and murdered in northern Jawzjan province on Tuesday night, local officials said Wednesday.

Three men have been arrested in relation to the case after being identified as possible suspects by the boy's father Shamsuddin, provincial police chief Abdul Aziz Ghairt said.
