Inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) have begun a three-day visit to Iran to determine the purpose of the country's nuclear program, BBC reported.
The visit comes as tensions between Iran and the world have escalated over nuclear activities.
Recently more serious sanctions were imposed on Iran to persuade the country to stop its nuclear enrichment.
The EU sanctions prohibit import, purchase and transport of Iranian crude oil and petroleum products.
Iranian banks were already sanctioned in the western countries.
While the Iranian government insists that it's nuclear programme is peaceful, it says that the inspectors were allowed to visit Iran to foil enemy plots.
Iran has also threatened to close the Strait of Hormuz at the entrance to the Gulf, through which more than 20% of the world's trade oil passes.
