At least 7 American soldiers were killed Monday in two separate road-side bomb blasts in southern Afghanistan, ISAF Press Release says
The Press Release did not give further details, but said five of the victims died in the first attack and two others in the second attack.
A total of 14 US service members have been killed in Afghan violence in eastern and southern parts of the country over the past three days.
Forty eight US service members have died in Afghanistan this month, still fewer than the 66 killed in July this year.
Road-side bomb blasts are an easy tool for insurgents to target Afghan and coalition forces, in which most victims are often civilians.
A total of 478 foreign soldiers have died in Afghan war this year, 315 of them Americans, compared to 512 foreign soldiers, 317 of them Americans in the whole of 2009, according to the independent icasualteis.org that tracks the death of foreign soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq.
The total number of US soldiers in Afghanistan has reached 120,000, with the fresh 30,000 US troops recently deployed in the country; most of them stationed in the southern volatile regions to fight an increasing insurgency.
