
A top official in the Afghan Mines Ministry said on Wednesday that after oil extraction from four wells in northern Sar-e Pul province, the Afghan oil will make its way to the local market
Daily, around 800 barrels of raw oil is extracted and enters local market after being refined.
The Mines Ministry is making an effort to use standard ways to increase the Afghan oil extraction, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Mines, Jawad Omar said.
Based on a resolution by council of ministers, the four wells of oil have been opened in the Province, said officials in the Mines Ministry.
"Preliminary steps have been taken in order to use domestic resources and undoubtedly it will have a positive impact on the market," said Jawad Omar. "this will pave the way for improvement of development plans, and the raw oil is refined inside the country."
Officials in the Mines Ministry said the extraction of oil is a step forward to use oil resources of the country. And there are also plans to utilise other oil resources in the country in a transparent way.
The Mines Ministry had previously estimated the value of Afghan mines more than three trillion dollars.
